Video Technology and science converge on an active volcano in Vanuatu, where explorer Sam Cosman pilots a camera-mounted drone to capture high-definition images of the spectacular but dangerous Maram Crater. Cosman and his team operated the drone over a 7.5-mile-wide (12-kilometer) caldera, encountering toxic gases and boiling lava. Although two drones perished due to the harsh environment, the team was able to bring back videos and photos that will help scientists learn more about the volcano and life around it. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe #NationalGeographic #Drones #Volcanoes About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world’s premium destination for science, exploration and adventure.
